A romantic conversation over food can enhance your experience in many different ways. Valentine’s Day is a special day and people of all ages celebrate it in their own small and big ways. From college teens to senior citizens, everyone has their own way to have a great time with their special ones. If you are planning to propose or surprise her on this special day there is nothing better than a lunch or dinner date. A bit of research can provide you with the best places to celebrate Valentine’s Day in Mumbai. This would be a great Valentine Day gift that you can give to your loved one. There is no dearth of restaurants that you can find in the city. However, here is my list of the best romantic restaurants in Mumbai that can offer value for money deals.
Shizusan Shophouse & Bar
If you want to try something different Shizusan Shophouse & Bar is a great place to be. It is located right near the Lifestyle Gate at High Street Phoenix Mall. Shizusan is a great option to try Korean, Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese, Asian and Thai food. The food here is simply delicious. Even if you have never tried Asian food before you’ll not be disappointed. You can order some baos and noodles and that should help you to bridge your taste bud gap.
The Peking Duck Bao and the Pulled Chicken Bao are really good. You may also order Black Bean Yaki Udon for your main course. The rates are affordable and the ambience is very peaceful. It provides a perfect setting for that quiet one-on-one romantic conversation on this special day.
Indigo Delicatessen
If you are looking for European and Continental dining experience choose Indigo Delicatessen. It has 8 outlets all over Mumbai: Colaba, Lower Parel, Bandra, Kurla, Andheri, Ghatkopar, Powai and Malad. Hence, you have the option to choose whichever location suits you. It is not noisy and the ambience is great providing you with the perfect Valentine’s Day experience.
Indigo Delicatessen offers a good range of sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, wafer-thin pizzas, and spaghetti food items. You can end your meal with a great dessert or a homemade ice cream. While the food here is a bit pricey it would be a perfect experience for the quality of food they serve and the service they provide. It is certainly one of the best romantic restaurants in Mumbai where you can have a great time.
Kobe Sizzler
While Kobe Sizzler is not a place that comes to my mind when I think of the best romantic restaurants in Mumbai, but then I think why not? There are two outlets of this place: Chowpatty and Hill Road in Bandra. Kobe Sizzler is a great place if you love sizzlers or want to try one. They have a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian sizzlers that will surely sizzle up your chemistry for the day. Try Lamb Shashlik or Paneer Shashlik when you are here and you will not be disappointed. You may also want to try sandwiches and burgers here that are equally delicious.
New Yorker
If Italian and Mexican food is on your mind you can head to New Yorker which is located at Chowpatty. It is not a big space but it provides you with plenty of food options that you can try. This is a pure vegetarian food joint so if you’re into chicken and meat you’ll be utterly disappointed. However, I would recommend you to try Original New Yorker Nachos, Veggie Supreme Pizza and Mexican Pasta Delight. You may end your meal with an NY Sizzling Brownie Sundae.
The Irish House
If quiet romantic dinner is not your cup of tea The Irish House is an ideal place to pick. It has 8 outlets in Mumbai. Hence, you can visit it at Thane, Lower Parel, Malad, Fort, Bandra West, BKC, Andheri and Kurla. This pub offers a dim lit ambience with wood and brick theme identical with an Irish pub in Ireland.
The European and American food menu adds to the entire food experience. You can have some pasta, pizzas and grilled items over some beer. The music is good and allows you to have a great pub experience for that special day.
Pizza Express
Nothing can beat the combination of pizza and small romantic talks. If you are bored of the same old Pizza Hut and Dominos, but if you still crave pizza, Pizza Express is the place to be. This place offers you something different which conventional pizza brands don’t.
They have 6 outlets in Mumbai: BKC, Powai, Colaba, Andheri, Thane West and Bandra West. The ambience is classy and it instantly draws your attention with its simplicity. The pizza range on the menu is unlike what Pizza Hut and Dominos have to offer. A glass of wine or a beer with a pizza is the way to go. PizzaExpress is my personal favourite among the list of best romantic restaurants in Mumbai.
Imbiss
With just three outlets in Mumbai: Colaba, Bandra and Santacruz, Imbiss is a place where you can have those great romantic moments together. It serves German, European and Continental food on the menu. If you love to gorge on meat with some beer this is the right place for you.
The wooden and brick ambience gives it a nice comfortable feel to it. You can try the sausage platter; schnitzels, sandwiches, chorizo rice and baby back spare ribs. Imbiss provides you with a great place where you can sit with your partner and have a hearty meal and conversation uninterrupted. This is certainly one of the best romantic restaurants in Mumbai where you can have a good time.

I really wish I had a magic carpet or my own jet to come right over and experience some of these wonderful looking places
I should be teleporting to India for lunch.
I am seriously hungry right now. These meals all look delicious, although I’m surprised to see spaghetti and meatballs at an Irish pub. I’m not saying I’d turn it down, just surprised. I have long given up on going out to dinner on Valentines Day, but I’d try any of these a day before or after.
I really thought a lot about your comment on spaghetti in an Irish pub and I have come to this conclusion. With all the knowledge and experience I have of the hospitality industry and the number of times I have eaten out I believe most (not all) restaurants, pubs and hotels here add variety to their menu. Probably because India has a diverse range of customers. I mean you go to a North Indian restaurant and you will still find a South Indian food option on the menu. For instance, New Yorker serves Mexican and Italian food, but they also serve Indian food. Pizza Express serves pizzas in Italian and American styles. Cream Centre (not on this list) serves Indian food, but they also have Mexican and Italian on their menu. So, you’ll find variations on the menu wherever you go in Mumbai. Also, which restaurant you would love to try mentioned on the list? Just curious.
