I have already mentioned about some of the top street food destinations in Mumbai in my earlier blog post, but this time I am changing the topic slightly. Mumbai is not just about South Mumbai which remains the core part of the city, or about the suburbs where majority of the residents live these days. It is about the entire city that come together and make this city so uniquely beautiful. While I may not be completely happy with the kind of population growth that has made this city over-crowded, bringing people from all parts of the country. However, I also believe that the city would not have been what it is if these changes wouldn’t have happened. In my previous blog about street food, I mentioned some roadside stalls where you can find some great fast food or street food. This time, I am only focusing on the most popular street foods that you can find across the city, I mean literally any corner of the city. No matter wherever you are in Mumbai, all you need to do is walk down your neighborhood and you will find these food items right there. I dedicate this post to all the foodies who don’t care for comfort or restaurant decor, but who care about taste, freshness and are desperately hungry. Let’s get started with it.

There are some things in life that are inexplicable and I am sure you would agree that no matter where you live today, you will always stay connected to your roots and to the city that you were born and brought up. There is this strange bond that ties you up with that city and you always feel like you are an integral part of that city. I share the same bond and feeling for Mumbai, the city where I was born and have lived all my life. Although, the city has changed in many ways and it is not the same city that it was when I was in my teenage years, I still adore it and love it with the same amount of intensity. While there are many locals that have experienced the transformation of the city, I am trying to highlight certain points that international travelers will know about it because the city has never been shown like this before.
Peace is important for our very existence and I believe without inner peace we all would have gone bonkers by now. For me, peace is like emptying myself up of all the worries, sorrows, and frustrations that I carry in myself, which multiplies over a period of time. I believe when peace comes to us, we get rid of all the negativity and become as light as empty glass, ready to fill in more that life has to offer. Amidst all the stress and worries, I and Sarah decided to take a short trip to Navsari, not too far from Mumbai where I would celebrate my Parsi New Year and would also get the much deserved break that I need.
Some festivals rely on promotions, schedules, and reminders.
Kala Ghoda Arts Festival doesn’t.
For a few days around the turn of January and February, the city slows down just enough to celebrate art in the open. Locals wander in after work. Students show up in groups. Visitors stumble upon it and stay longer than planned.
Christmas is just around the corner and as time slips out of hand panic trickles into our mind. Many people in Mumbai live a hectic life that is hard to describe in words and I certainly know that after all I have been a Mumbaikar all my life commuting up and down the local trains five days a week and getting into that super dense crush load local trains that push you to the limits of madness and havoc. If you are still not ready with your Christmas decorations, Christmas tree and other important things that you need to prepare for the festival you need not panic because you can still make up and get all the information right here simplified and to the point. I have already covered the decorations part in my earlier blog that also talks about Christmas tree and other decorative items that you need during the festival. So, if you are looking for Christmas tree shops in Mumbai or Christmas decorations in Mumbai you can click here.

Hailed as the Garden City of India, Bangalore recently named Bengaluru is not just a shopper’s paradise but also the state capital of Karnataka. In terms of size and population, Bangalore is not too far behind and takes the fifth position. However, in terms of overall urban landscapes Bangalore certainly races a little ahead mainly because of the beautiful parks, heritage buildings and architecture and shopping centers and malls that are here for the people. While I usually find people talking about the beautiful gardens and the pub culture and the technology and IT parks that have impacted the life of the common people in the city, I would like to talk about shoppers can make the best use of their shopping skills and enjoy the best time shopping for Diwali in Bangalore because that is what I do best.
Diwali is just around the corner and if you are in Delhi then you are at the right place at the right time. Delhi celebrates Diwali in a grand style and therefore it is the best place for shoppers where they can find tons of shopping items that they can use for the festive season. Although, I am from Mumbai, but I believe that Delhi offers a better shopping experience especially for budget consumer like me who looks out for better bargain deals and discounts and offers at every other shop that I pass through. The shopping fever usually grips Delhi much before the festival date and shoppers stroll through narrow lanes and streets to find the best deals that they can get their hands on. I was just reading The Economic Times and it says that according to ASSOCHAM (The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India) Delhi will see around 40% slash in their Diwali budget because of the inflation that has hit the nation. The survey also claims that most middle class families have decided to cut down their festive spending because of eroding purchasing power. So, let me take you on a ride to some of the best places in Delhi where you can enjoy Diwali shopping without worrying about your budget.
It’s time to add some colors to your wardrobe, pump up the garba music and to put on your dancing shoes because Navratri is here and while Mumbai and Kolkata celebrates Navratri in style, Gujarat celebrates it with all the grandeur and tradition which is deeply rooted in the history of Gujarat. Although, I am not very religious, I have always loved watching and dancing to the beats of garba and dandiya since my childhood. The colorful chaniya cholis and kedias that people wear for the event and that swirl around with the spinning motion in sync with the music offers a visual treat that you can only see in this time of the year. If you are passionate about dancing to the beats of traditional dandiya and garba rather than getting dragged into all the Bollywood glamour that happens during these nine nights, I would certainly recommend that you take a trip to Gujarat and witness one of the best dancing festivals and garba places you will find across western India.
