Unlike many of my other posts, this is an impulsive one because I thought I should talk about this with my readers. Travel is a part of lifestyle today. Professionals usually travel for business purposes or when they take a break from work. Bloggers like me travel for work and pleasure both. While some travel because they have loads of money in their bank account and they probably need to spend it somewhere. Anyways, whatever your reason is, chances are that you do travel at some point in time.

Having fun amidst the rain while trekking has its own level of excitement. When the Southwest monsoon winds bring the clouds hovering above Maharashtra, it’s time for the trekkers and nature enthusiasts to climb up the mountains and forts that can offer them some adventure and exhilarating fun. The Western Ghats offer so much more to the trekkers and nature lovers who want to explore the rugged topography and rocky mountains and walk through the extensive forest network that otherwise remains unexplored. In this one, we continue our trek journey, but focus on places that can raise the bar to the next level.

I’ve really covered so much about Maharashtra in some of my previous posts that I sometimes feel that there is nothing more that I can write about Maharashtra, but I’m glad I’m wrong and that new ideas emerge where I can showcase the beauty of my state across the globe. During the summers, Maharashtra can be really hot and it can make you sweat like anything, but the scenario changes only a few weeks after the arrival of the monsoon. The thundering black clouds shower over the Western Ghats for days and weeks and transform the hard, rocky and dried up mountains into a carpet of lush green with river water gushing through the mountain cracks offering life to the entire ecosystem in its way.

While many would prefer to stay indoors, thousands prefer to venture into the wild for an adventurous trip that they’ve been waiting for. Trekking in Maharashtra during the monsoon is something that can provide you with a pleasurable feeling like no other. All you need to do is pack your gear, muster up your courage and prepare to conquer these mighty mountains that can offer nature in its purest form. Although, it sounds like a smaller circuit it still offers the best experience that one can have in a limited space of a 5-6 days.

If you happen to make some trip in the northern part of India, I must certainly recommend you to visit Punjab, the land of the Sikhs and home of the bhangra music. Before the partition of India, Punjab was a province which was divided between India and Pakistan. However, after the partition Punjab in India became a state while it still remains a province in Pakistan. I am quite surprise when I sometimes talk to Indian friends who don’t even know that there is a province called Punjab in Pakistan. Anyways, I am not here to talk about who knows what about Indian history. The word Punjab literally means the Land of Five Rivers (Beas, Sutlej, Ravi, Chenab and Jhelum River) and has lot of history of invasion and battles. Today, Punjab is doing well and is known as the most fertile region of India. The state is also called as the Granary of India or India’s Bread-Basket. The economy is doing well and the state is well connected through road, air and train offering a great experience for locals and even for tourists that would like to explore this part of India.
