While Udaipur sits last on this list it certainly is my and Sarah’s most loved destination in India. And it is not only us who are going bonkers about it. Udaipur has consistently ranked as the second-best city in the world and won Travel + Leisure Awards.

During our visit in 2018, we had a great time in Udaipur. I wrote an entire Udaipur series that covered various lakeside restaurants, temples, markets, royal palaces and local attractions.

Often referred to as the City of Lakes, Udaipur is also among the top honeymoon destinations in India. Nestled around the Aravalli Hills, Udaipur has two lakes where you can enjoy your time. Lake Pichola is the main attraction here with spectacular views of Lake Palace, Monsoon Palace and City Palace.
