Beaches have always attracted me more than anything else from the very early days of my life. Being in Mumbai, I love being at Marine Drive and watching the sun go down behind those skyscrapers that dominate the Malabar Hill area and I love to see the orange street lights glowing up that look like a pearl necklace in the evening time which is why Marine Drive is often quoted as Queen’s Necklace. India has 7,517 kilometers of coastline and that means that not just Mumbai, but many other parts of the country has beaches that can offer you great experience. Here we take a quick look at the top 5 beaches in India that are perfect for that evening romantic walk with your partner or with your family or friends. These beach destinations are among the best voted beaches in India and offer value for money experience.
Agonda Beach, Goa
Located in South Goa, this long pristine stretch of beach offers the calm and tranquility that you need. Agonda Beach is also a great place for those who want to relax and unwind and make sure that they find themselves one with the universe. Since the beach does not have much activity you will find less activity happening here and it is cheaper and quieter. If you are early here at the beach you can also ask the fishermen to take you for a dolphin rides which will cost you around Rs. 1000/-. You can hike on the hillocks nearby and ensure that you have a great time.
Radhanagar Beach, Havelock Island, Andaman and Nicobar Islands
If you are searching for some peaceful beaches around India, Radhanagar Beach is certainly among the top list where you can take a nice walk with your partner or with your family. The Havelock Island is located 57 kilometers North East of Port Blair and has been voted as the Best Beach in Asia by Time in 2004. It has also won many titles as the Best Indian Beach on the East Coast. The beach is quiet and calm and offers the right moments to couples that need some private time from their hectic urban life.
Cavelossim Beach, Goa
Another beach in South Goa that manages to attract more visitors and romantic couples is Cavelossim Beach. The beach offers a perfect setting for couples for those who want to have long evening walks. You can also find many beach shacks here and since it is not so noisy and loud you can come here to unwind and ensure that you get the right peace of mind. If you love beautiful sunsets you need to come here to witness it on your own. If you are in Goa, you need to visit the beach with your partner and enjoy the food and drinks available at the shacks and enjoy your walk.
Varkala Beach, Kerala
If you are in Kerala somewhere close to Thiruvananthapuram you will find Varkala Beach also known as Papanasam Beach that offers the right experience that you need when you are on a honeymoon or enjoying some special moments with your partner. The word Papanasam means washing away your sins and it is believed that a dip in the water here can get rid of all your sins. The best thing about this beach is that you won’t find many people here so it is still unexplored. It has this golden white sand where you will find many couples and even find people enjoying meditation and yoga exercises.
Lighthouse Beach, Kovalam, Kerala
Another beach in Kerala that definitely steals the attention is Lighthouse Beach in Kovalam. It is around 16 kilometers from the city center and remains the biggest attraction in Kovalam near Thiruvananthapuram. If you are passionate about sunset and romantic walks there is no better place to go in Kerala. It is also voted among the cleanest beach in Kovalam so you can sit down after a walk and enjoy the sea breeze hitting your face. There are plenty of shacks and restaurants around here and the old style lighthouse adds to the spectacular view. The food close to the beach is good and fairly priced so it is a perfect destination for those who believe in spending quality moments rather than going for a noisy, loud and expensive experience.

Goa is the queen of beaches and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in India.
Thank you, my friend, for the Sunday walk along India’s most lovely beaches. I wish I could see them. They remind me of CR without the jungle that lines the sand. Your photos are wonderful. I especially like the one of Varkala, the way the surf ends where the land mass disrupts it, near the top of the photo.i feel peaceful just reading your post. Thank you.
Well, I was talking to our group members especially Paul, I realized that many of you feel that my blog posts are more towards luxury holidays and places and not towards budget holiday camps. So, I decided to share some posts that are aimed towards budget conscious travelers. Except, Radhanagar Beach which is Andamans and which might cost you dearly, all beaches are accessible and you don’t need huge budget for it at all. Varkala Beach in Kerala is amazingly beautiful, in fact whole of Kerala is beautiful which is why Kerala state is called God’s Own Country. Thank you for loving and appreciating my posts.
Oh I absolutely do. I never really considered that your other recommendations might be expensive or not. I suppose if I wanted to go, I would then concern myself with those things. And I am by no means wealthy. I just love to see all that there is to see. :))
Great beaches, man. You really do have a passion for your country. It is unquestionably manifest in these photos. Thanks, for sharing.
